Yaay it is Friday! And on this french fry Friday, we are taking a moment to enjoy the sweet and silly stories of how pets got their name that will have you rolling on the floor laughing. As many of us pawrents know, naming our fur babies is one of the most important tasks we will ever engage in, in our short lives. We have the responsibility of giving a creature a name for life, something that will characterize them for the rest of their days. And today the pawrents of Reddit have shared with us their pet naming stories to give us all a well deserved giggle fit for the end of the working week.

From the animal rescuer who likes to name their rescues after the location in which they found them, to the several felines who have been named after various parts of refuse due to their proximity or affinity for our discarded items, to the pet tarantula named Bigfoot, who, according to his pawrent, is incredibly elusive and can only be captured as faint blurs on photographs. We love the Righteous Gemstones, and he has a lot in common with the character (big, gorgeous teeth, always solicitous, kept running away from a previous home with a bunch of rowdy kids, loves to dance, and was supposed to be a foster dog but elbowed his way right into the inner circle).     Now this is a pawrent with some seriously valuable pet naming experience. You can see how they have taken all factors of pawsonality into account when concocting their pet's name and truly managed to choose a name which instantly describes their pawsonalities. If only us hoomans had that, maybe we should name the next generation in this way.
